The Foundations of Buddhism
Lead by Ven. Dr. Dhammadipa Sak
In this work, Rupert Gethin discusses the philosophical concepts and practices which constitute the common heritage of the different traditions of Buddhism, from the perspectives of both traditional beliefs and modern scholarship. This work is unique in capturing the mainstream ideas of different Buddhist traditions, and in providing further expositions of Buddhist cosmology, no self, dependent arising, the path of meditation, and the theoretical Abhidharma framework. It is a work that can be accessed by those without any prior knowledge of Buddhist concepts, and can be beneficial to those who are seasoned practitioners of Buddhism.
